flow charts

Design flow charts of  your system. Flow Charts and Diagrams
Flowcharts, organizational charts, conceptual maps and other types of charts to help with the visualization of hierarchies, processes and structures. They are used across disciplines, but more on diving in the context of computer science, history and social studies.

When drawing and designing will help the following programs, which are all freely available and intuitive.

Graph Editor

With the Graph Editor yEd Graph Editor, you can create complex layouts and arrange this can be automated.

To use the software, you need a Java Runtime Environment (JavaRE). This is either already installed on your computer (check it in [Start] [Control Panel] [Java]) or can be downloaded here for free: Download JavaRE.

Besides trees, hierarchical and organic layout, there are several county and mixed forms. This gallery of examples on the manufacturer's website for an overview.

brings the usual basic shapes of objects, but can also import images. In addition to many other formats, the program supports export to SVG, so that further processing with Inkscape nothing stands in the way.

Project / / Draw (Web)

Project / / Draw is software that runs on the server of the provider. Diagrams that were created online, can be downloaded in many file formats to the local computer and edit it there then continue. An upload files for further processing on the server by Project / / Draw is also supported.

The menus of the server program are not very extensive, but they offer all necessary for the initial forms: basic shapes such as rectangles, rounded rectangles, ellipses and circles, triangles, parallelograms, other polygonal shapes and arrows are also available, such as flowchart shapes, network hardware etc., Windows and Macintosh window elements and workflow forms.

Drag and Drop is widely endorsed. Only when creating new objects from the left side bar, this function is not perfect: you must first click on the object with the mouse and then "draw" on the desktop.

Ideal is the export format SVG and the subsequent local processing in Inkscape. Allows you to assign the objects then more complex gradients or import other elements.
