Kanban is a new change management methodology to implement changes in small steps IT organizations with high acceptance of all parties. By simple means such as visualization and limiting parallel items worked problems and bottlenecks are quickly visible and can be tackled step by step. The growing number of Kanban teams around the world suggests that not only Kanban by the existing process still further improved, but also that a culture develops that is characterized by trust and mutual respect.

In this book David J. Anderson as he has Kanban developed in 2004 as a manager at Microsoft and what experience he has in this time gather with teams around the world. It is not only the basics of Kanban (pull systems, WIP Limits, Kanban boards, tickets, Kaizen) are taught, but also more advanced concepts such as two-stage Kanban boards that deal with congestion and various types of variability.

The book is rounded by a review of Markus Andrezak in which he describes how the mobile.international GmbH organizes its portfolio management with Kanban.

"David's work with Kanban system has been a significant influence on how I approach software development and has changed the way I think about processes. Rather than viewing work in terms of stories, points, and time boxes, I now see WIP, flow, and cadence . This book is a milestone in bringing this perspective to a resist audience, and is a must-read for anyone looking for ways of creating successful and sustainable development organizations. "

"This is an exciting and important book that deserves careful reading. What you will get from it will depend on how seriously you read it. No other book will give you a better exposure to these advanced ideas. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have. "
